Mário Ferrari & family conduct the production of quality coffees at Fazenda da Serra since the 1948, when his grandfather started the production of fine coffees. Today, with special suport of his daughter Andrea manages the estate with great competence, been responsible for 360 hectares of high quality coffee production.
The biggest challenges at Fazenda da Serra are the mountainous and higher altitude coffee trees during the harvest time due to the logistical issues and lower productivity. The use of
the manual harvesting machine - better known as mãozinha
(little hand) - has helped a lot in the harvest, in addition to
better drying management in the yard and processing.
The quality of the coffees is very important for MF. Currently
his special attention is in the drying logistics of coffees of
higher altitudes, in general of better quality. The drying
process of these coffees must be separated from coffees
of lower altitudes, which are harvested partly mechanically.
Valdeci Rodrigues, a highly respected and experienced coffee
consultant in the region, has helped a lot of MF both in the
post-harvest guidelines as well as in the separation for the storage of the best quality coffees.
Because of Mario Ferrari Agronomical knowledges and mechanical skills he has been successful in finding solutions on a daily basis to improve the efficiency of the various operations and maintenance processes of the Farm.
